YouthBuild Schenectady’s students have studied NCCER and air sealing and insulation in the classroom in their ongoing training to learn sustainable construction while developing other translatable skills.
More recently, they installed tubing for radiant heating throughout the home. Check out the photos that highlight this project.
As the project continues, students recall moments of their trainings that they will never forget. “Remember when we were on the scaffold putting up the top layer of the siding? Man that was crazy” said Eugene Simmons while speaking with other students.
“Yea, thinking about the siding, the color of it really makes the house stand out. And the white trim of the doors and windows really make it pop” continued the conversation.
We are very excited about the progress of construction and the experience the students are having!
