Visit to recycling center

The Green Building squad has gone on many interesting field trips this year. Last session, we visited the 777 Building on Broad Street. It is a green apartment building in Philadelphia. They told us interesting facts about the building like how they used recycled materials for countertops and carpeting. We also visited the Atlantic County Utilities Authority to see windmills and solar panels to learn about how they are green energy.

On Monday, we went with the Advanced Construction squad to the place that took all of our trash from our worksite to recycle it. We had a lot of construction trash from our first week of demolition. They showed us how they separate the materials and the wood and how they recycle and reuse it. They also talked us about how to be green.
